Our paid family and medical leave research explores how these policies, and related ones such as paid sick days, impact family income, poverty and material hardship, health and well-being, and economic activity. Our work explores how current policies and proposals are structured and the ways in which they may benefit employers, workers, and families, as well how they may generate economic, health, and overall well-being returns. We examine paid family and medical leave and paid sick day policies and proposals at the federal and state level and within New York City.
