Our food research examines food insecurity, the anti-poverty effects of nutrition assistance policies, and the potential effects of proposed food policy changes. Our research examines policies such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), community and non-profit food provision through food banks and food pantries, and more general research on the problem of food insecurity and food hardship. We explore trends in food insecurity, the anti-poverty effects of nutrition assistance policy, and the potential effects of proposed policy changes at the federal and state level and within New York City.
